It is so helpful to have information regarding specific 2e areas such as, gifted students with Asperger's, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia. The presenter also points out the detrimental effects that timed tasks have on 2e children.
What makes this resource so helpful is that it is a compilation of strategies and ideas from actual teachers for supporting twice-exceptional learners, especially those with ADD and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
I found this to be a touching story of children's book illustrator, Jerry Pinkney's personal story of the challenges he faced growing up as a twice-exceptional child. What is most powerful, was his discussion of how he was able to use his strengths as a gifted artist to compensate for his weaknesses in reading.
I found this to have a very easy to read description of common characteristics of twice-exceptional learners. The list of teaching strategies for supporting the unique needs of 2e students is great to have for your teacher "toolkit".
