Data-Driven Decision Making in Learner Motivation

Getting students to take responsibility for their own learning is one of the challenges all classroom teachers face. If and when they finally do, how does the teacher know if it has been successful? The teachers needs to collect some forms of data to validate that the students have attained the desired learning and that it was achieved on their own. This collection provides methods teachers can use to collect this data and also describes the idea of intrinsic motivation.

I think the speaker's perspective is really good and I like what he has to say. I think this video would best be used as a pep talk. You will feel motivated after watching it.

This research article provides 12 tips teachers can use to attempt to improve this motivation in students. I think the tips are great and would be a big help to all teachers. They also lend themselves to measurement, which can be used by the teacher to know if the desired goal has been reached.

    I really like the way this listing of ideas presents itself in a graphical manner. Each of the ideas present is a great way to improve motivation of students. I also like the fact that the teacher can measure many of these. They will require some creation of assessments, but by using the ideas listed here and then testing students on them, the teacher can get a good idea of how motivation has changes.
