An interesting video about one school's experience using a digital report card that allows parent's 24/7 access to their child's portfolio. I found it interesting to hear the teacher's viewpoints in the video. I chose to share this as an interesting discussion point for you to discuss with your colleagues. What do you think? Is this the way of the future?
I am a firm believer in the importance of regular parent communication. This is a free template from TpT and my favorite one that I've found for recording my notes during parent interviews and phone calls. When I sit down to write my report cards I have my log of parent communication at my fingertips which helps me in crafting my comments.
This is a free resource from TpT and it includes 100 Report Card comments. I enjoy personalizing my report card comments and I use this as a guide to inspire or get me going when I am stuck on a student and can't think of how I want to properly convey the information. A good tool to have on hand that can help get you unstuck if you are experiencing writer's block.
