Posters for your Computer Classroom

Recently I was in need of some posters to spruce up my computer lab. I selected posters that communicate to not just students but other teachers and parents. Below you’ll find my favorite list of computer related posters covering topics like Digital Citizenship, Programming, Robotics and General Computing.

Every computer classroom needs at least a few “Digital Citizenship” posters to remind students to manage their digital footprint, stay safe online or understand digital literacy.  Common Sense Media provides 5 free Digital Citizenship related posters that are ready to print in poster size! My favorite Digital Citizenship poster comes from Fractus Learning and is licensed under a Creative Commons License so your free to hang it on your classroom wall or school hallway.  Another great feature is the ability to download the poster in “hi-res” format. You can print out a large-size poster for your classroom wall or even take it to a professional printer to create a large banner for a school wide digital citizenship event.

This blog features 6 informative and interesting computer science related “infographics” that will look great on any computer classroom wall!  One of my students’ favorite posters is “Which Programming Language Should I Learn First?” as it helps students understand the different programming languages. Other interesting posters include iPhone vs. Android, What Do Programmers Do?, How to Create a Website, and 10 Tips to Stop Wasting Time on Facebook.

Every computer science classroom should have at least several Robotics posters.  A great free poster is Kuka’s “The Growth of Robotics in STEM Education’.  The poster’s goal is to inform students and teachers of the increasing demand for jobs in the robotics sector of this fast growing industry. Also, teachers, students and parents can see how STEM education plays a vital role in preparing students for a this high tech career path.
