A visual aid for teachers who are curious about read-aloud strategies. Although the example used is a picture book, there are still ways to incorporate these methods when using early readers. Reading these types of books aloud helps children become engrossed in the story, and eventually, early readers/chapter books altogether.
For children who resist chapter books because there aren't as many pictures, a visual aid might be necessary—this video is one such example. Children can either look at the screen or follow along in their own books. A lot of the classic early readers/chapter books have read-alouds to accompany them.
